With more than 15,000 Federal Housing Administration (FHA) multi-family mortgage insurance premiums to audit for verification of amounts due to or from mortgagors, Y2K concerns, and tight timeframes to complete the work, HUD turned to Walker & Company, LLP. With a competent, solutions-driven, and results-oriented team, we brought the premium audits current, eliminated the Y2K problem, and monitored the maintenance and retrieval of over 20,000 mortgage files held at HUD headquarters. We also devised an automated database to track, validate, and catolog each file, which so impressed HUD's technical manager that we were asked to maintain the agency's more than 20,000 files. Our system has reduced information retrieval from days to hours with a 98% retrieval success rate.
